URL
It's common for people to say, “go to this URL.” A URL is the commonly used casual term for the location of a resource on the Web. URL means Uniform Resource Locator. It is also more technically known as a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) or URN (Uniform Resource Name). These are strings of information, usually separated by slashes, and may include long strings of other characters and numbers that identify resources in the Web: documents, images, downloadable files, services, electronic mailboxes, and other items. The URL refers to the protocol (HTTP, FTP, etc.), the domain name, and additional information, such as the path or folder where the information you are looking for is. An example URL would be: www.dvorak.org/home.htm
