Entry

There are few change projects that don't require people to modify how they think, feel or behave. Unless you understand the people issues, then the chances of carrying out a successful engagement will be limited.

The key question to consider is what is the level of entry to make with this change? I suggest that changing how people operate can take place at one of the five levels on the change ladder:

  • Existence: what people believe in or use as their core purpose for taking a set of actions.

  • Desire: the extent to which people are motivated to take a set of actions.

  • Capability: the competencies or skills that people have to undertake a set of actions.

  • Blueprint: the guidelines or procedures used to make decisions about the actions they ...
