Fundraisers, who are predominantly female, operate at the boundaries of their organizations as they interact with powerful, mostly male donors and board members attempting to mitigate their organization’s resource dependencies. [Resource dependency theory suggests that those providing resources enjoy power and influence over those dependent upon those resources.] Contexts such as these, where the boundary spanners are predominantly women and the third party tends to be a man of resources, are ripe for sexual harassment.
