So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
Once the Plugin Editor has loaded and a plugin has been selected, WordPress will load the files list for each plugin and its content by traversing through the plugin files in the plugin folder. The recommended process is to deactivate the plugin before making any changes.
If you make a minor error while coding while the plugin is active, you will see errors instantly on your site. However, if you make critical coding errors that generate PHP fatal errors, the site will become completely inaccessible as the plugin is active while there's still errors.
Once we edit the plugin file and save the changes, WordPress will write the code changes to the actual plugin file inside the plugin folder. This is an instant and permanent change ...
