How it works...
The search engine looks for a sitemap for easily traversing through the available URLs in a site and identify the connections between URLs. By default, WordPress doesn't create a sitemap file for your site. So, we have to manually create a sitemap file or use a plugin to generate it automatically.
First, we configured the settings for generating the sitemap. The plugin finds the URLs generated by the core WordPress features and adds them to the sitemap. These core features include posts, pages, tags, categories, archives, and author pages. By default, the settings are selected only for the home page, posts, and static pages. We have added the other core features using the Sitemap Content settings section.
