WordPress 5 Cookbook

Getting ready

Open the code editor and have access to the plugin files of the WPCookbook Chapter 5 plugin created in the Improving user profiles with additional fields recipe.

We also need some users with names to test the output. Take the following steps to add names to the users:

1. Log in to the Dashboard as an administrator.
2. Click the Users menu item to get the users list.
3. Click the Edit link of one of the users.
4. Add the First Name and Last Name for the user.
5. Click the Update Profile button to save the changes.
6. Follow steps 2 to 5 for one or more users.

Now, we are ready to build the user search.
