How to do it...

Take the following steps to add custom features to the user list, using the Bulk Actions feature and marking the set of users as Staff Members by adding a database value:

1. Log in to the Dashboard as an administrator.
2. Click the Users menu from the left-hand section.
3. Click the Bulk Actions drop-down field to see the available options. At this stage, only the Delete option will be available, as shown in the following screenshot:

4. Open the wpcookbookchapter5.php file of the WPCookbook Chapter 5 plugin in the code editor.
5. Add the following code to add a new action to the Bulk Actions drop-down field:
