Displaying a custom login error message

Use the following steps to customize the login error message and display a generic message:

1. Go to the backend login screen of the site.
2. Attempt to log in using an invalid username or invalid password to get a screen similar to the following:

3. Add the following code to the wpcookbookchapter12.php file of the WPCookbook Chapter 12 plugin:

function wpcpp_ch12_login_errors($error){ return 'Login Failed';}add_filter( 'login_errors', 'wpcpp_ch12_login_errors' );

4. Save the changes.
5. Attempt to log in using an invalid username or invalid password.
