It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Displaying recently registered users
The default WordPress installation provides a widget called Recent Posts to display the latest posts on the site. Similarly, we need to display recently registered users in sites where user registrations and a public user profile is enabled, to let other people know who is using the site and how they are using it. So, we can use built-in user data to identify the latest user registrations and display them using either a custom widget or a shortcode.
In this recipe, we are going to create a shortcode to display recently registered users anywhere on the site.
