How to do it...

Follow these steps to create a shortcode for restricting content inside posts and pages:

1. Open the wpcookbookchapter7.php file using the code editor.
2. Add the following code to the end of the file to define the shortcode and attributes for restricting post/page content:

add_shortcode('wpccp_chapter7_restrict_access','wpccp_chapter7_restrict_access');function wpccp_chapter7_restrict_access($atts,$content){  $atts = shortcode_atts(    array(      'type' => 'all',      'role' => '',      ), $atts );   // Step 3 code should be placed after this line  return $content;}

3. Add the following code after the commented line "// Step 3 code should be placed after this line" to check the conditions and apply the restrictions for content:
