How to do it...

Take the following steps to assign a user role and remove the existing user role for existing users:

1. Log in to the Dashboard as an administrator.
2. Click the Users menu from the left-hand section.
3. Select the users for which you would like to add roles by using the checkboxes in line with the Username field.
4. Click the Change role to drop-down field to get the following screen:

5. Select one of the available user roles.
6. Click the Change button.

Now, the existing role of the selected users will be replaced by the new role, and the user list will update to show the change in role.
