How it works...

Generally, the WSoD is generated by PHP fatal errors. The simplest way to resolve this error is to find the cause and the file location. We have to enable debug mode to see the errors on the browser. We already discussed this in the previous recipe. Once enabled, you will see the actual error on the browser.

Most of these errors are caused by a theme or one of the plugins. Thus, we can easily identify the error by looking at the file path. If a theme is causing the issue, you will see wp-content/themes in the file path, along with the theme name. If a plugin is causing the issue, you will see wp-content/plugins in the file path, along with the plugin name. Once the file and line number that generates the issue is identified, ...
