How to do it...

Follow these steps to modify a plugin code using the Plugin Editor and add some content before the post content:

1. Log in to the WordPress Dashboard as an administrator.
2. Click the Plugins menu.
3. Click the Plugin Editor sub-menu item.
4. Click the I understand button to get the following screen:

5. Open the Plugins menu in a separate browser tab.
6. Click the Deactivate link of the plugin you want to edit and switch to the previous tab with the Plugin Editor. In this case, we will be using the built-in Akismet Anti-Spam plugin.
7. Choose the plugin you want to edit from the Select plugin to edit: field.
8. Click the Select button to load ...
