So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Building Good Broad-Based Relationships with as Many People as Possible Should Be a General Goal for You
There are, of course, important relationships other than those indicated in the diagrams. Your relationship-building activity should not be confined to a single department. It is a good idea for you to expand your sphere of influence as quickly as possible on your new job. The more good relationships you build, the better.
As important as peripheral relationships are, they are not your primary working relationships. You cannot afford to concentrate on building relationships outside your department by neglecting those on the inside.
