I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Case 18: Dilemma
Sylvia made two mistakes. First, she accepted as fact a comment that was not authenticated and could easily have been a rumor. Her second mistake was more serious: she permitted the possible rumor to disturb her emotionally, to the point where it noticeably hurt her productivity.
The facts were not presented in the case, but it is quite possible that the real reason Mr. Young was made department head instead of Sylvia was that Sylvia’s efficiency on the job had dropped to the point where management decided to pass her over. If this was what happened, Sylvia permitted a simple rumor to do the greatest possible damage to her future.
