I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Case 8: Choice
You have a difficult choice. The older, Theory X supervisor might give you the following advantages: (1) he has been with the company longer and has had more experience, so he might be able to teach you more; and (2) although he may demand more from you, in the long run you might be a stronger person and eventually a better supervisor yourself because of it.
If you choose the younger, Theory Y supervisor, you might enjoy the following advantages: (1) you would probably become more involved under her leadership and, as a result, more productive; and (2) this supervisor would probably move up the management ladder sooner. If you work hard, you might be able to take her place and move even higher later on because of her influence ...
