Networking can seem a bit scary. Due to the massive amount of devices that we own today that can be connected on some level, this can be an immense topic. Besides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and cellular, there are so many different ways for devices to connect and communicate with each other and us.
Fortunately for us, Microsoft has spent the time and effort to make the process of building a shared experience much easier than it would be otherwise, without years of network code under your belt. However, we must get our hands a little dirty to get it all figured out.
