When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Why are persistent holograms necessary?
Imagine that you have this great new smart house system that uses your HoloLens to control everything. However, it is controlled with panels and other objects that you put around your home. You get home from a hard day's work and set everything up. You put your HVAC thermostat in the hallway to the bedrooms. You then set up a sprinkler system timer and put that on the wall in your garage. You keep going, and spend hours putting everything where it goes, making sure that it's all set up exactly how you like.
The next day you come home from work excited, put on your HoloLens and see that suddenly everything is gone. You walk around angrily looking for your hologram controls, and then remember that there ...
