Description

Use the fwtmp command as part of the accounting software to edit the wtmpx file. fwtmp reads from the standard input and writes to the standard output, converting binary records of the type found in /var/adm/wtmpx to formatted ASCII records. The ASCII version is useful when you need to edit bad records. In the Solaris 8 release, the /var/adm/wtmpx file replaces the obsolete wtmp database file.
