nisaddcred — Create NIS+ Credentials
Synopsis
/bin/nisaddcred [-p principal][-P nis-principal][-l login-password] auth-type [domain-name] /bin/nisaddcred -r [nis-principal][domain-name]
Description
Use the nisaddcred command to create security credentials for NIS+ principals. NIS+ credentials serve two purposes. The first is to provide authentication information to various services; the second is to map the authentication service name into an NIS+ principal name.
Note
It is simpler to add credentials by means of nisclient(1M) because that command obtains the required information itself. You can use nispopulate(1M) for "bulk" updates and also to add credentials for entries in the hosts and the passwd NIS+ tables.
