tunefs — Tune an Existing File System

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/tunefs [-a maxcontig][-d rotdelay][-e maxbpg][-m minfree]
  [-o [space | time]] special | filesystem
					

Description

Use the tunefs command to change a file system's dynamic parameters that affect the layout policies. The file system must be unmounted before you use tunefs. When you use tunefs with filesystem, filesystem must be in /etc/vfstab. Use the options listed below to specify the parameters that are to be changed.

Generally, you should optimize for time unless the file system is over 90 percent full.
