lpset — Set Printing Configuration in /etc/printers.conf or FNS

Synopsis

/bin/lpset [-n system | fns][-x][-a key=value][-d key] destination
					

Description

Use the lpset command to create an/etc/printers.conf file or Federated Naming System (FNS). See printers.conf(4) and fns(5).

Only superuser or a member of group 14 can execute lpset.

Options

[-n system|fns]
 Create or update the configuration information for the destination entry in /etc/printers.conf or FNS. system specifies that the information is created or updated in /etc/printers.conf. fns specifies that the information is written using Federated Naming context. If you do not specify -n, system is the default.
-x Remove all configuration for the destination entry in /etc/printers.conf
