nsupdate — Update DNS Nameservers

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/nsupdate [-d][-v][filename]

Description

Use the nsupdate command to update domain nameservers. The command has interactive and noninteractive modes. The interactive mode enables you to update servers with information about various hosts and domains. The noninteractive mode enables you to batch update zones. Both modes assume that the nameserver permits updates from the host where nsupdate is being run. See in.named(1M) for a discussion of the allow-update option for configuring in.named.

Options

-d Debug mode.
-v Use TCP instead of UDP for updates.
