labelit — List or Provide Labels for File Systems

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/labelit [-F FSType][-V] special [operands]

Description

Use the labelit command to write or display labels on unmounted disk file systems.

Note

This command may not be supported for all FSTypes.

Options

-F FSType Specify the FSType on which to operate. Either specify the FSType here, or labelit should be able to determine it from /etc/vfstab by matching special with an entry in the table. If no matching entry is found, use the default file-system type specified in /etc/default/fs.
-V Echo the complete command line. You can use this option to verify and validate the command line. Additional information obtained from an /etc/vfstab lookup is included in the output. The command ...
