So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
passmgmt — Password Files Management

/usr/sbin/passmgmt -a options name /usr/sbin/passmgmt -m options name /usr/sbin/passmgmt -d name
Description
Use the passmgmt command to update information in the password files. This command works with both /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.
Note
The passmgmt command modifies password definitions only in the local /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow files. If a network nameservice such as NIS or NIS+ is being used to supplement the local files with additional entries, passmgmt cannot change information supplied by the network nameservice.
The passmgmt command will be removed in a future release. Its functionality has been replaced and enhanced by the useradd, userdel, and usermod commands, which are currently ...
