Getting a decision

For many of us, life at work moves at a very fast pace. Therefore, getting decisions is vital because without decisions that pace can’t be maintained. So what happens if you can’t get a decision made when you desperately need it?

First, think:

  • Where is the barrier? How does the person you are trying to influence like to make decisions? Have you given them everything they need to make the decision the way they like to?
  • What is your relationship with the key decision maker? Are you well connected to others who might be able to influence the decision maker? What about your boss – is there a route through your boss and around the barrier?
