The popular saying, “If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?” certainly applies to your OJT program. In this chapter you have learned that a good project plan tells you where to be, by when, and by what route. Design teams decide what training modules will be written and in what order, who will serve on the approval teams, and how and what to evaluate to determine if the program objectives defined during the needs identification are met. The project plan also includes a schedule for implementing the remaining steps of the model—Steps 4 through 8.
In the next chapter, you will learn how to write training modules and cover sheets for the tasks you identified in Step 2.
