As you recall from chapter 1, knowledge about task accomplishment should be imparted to trainees via the job instruction training technique, an orderly method for teaching trainees in a one-on-one situation. An effective trainer needs a training process model as a working tool (see the sidebar titled “The Need for a Systematic Method”). The five-step OJT cycle is illustrated in Figure 10.1.
