11.10. Capture Part of the Screen with the Snipping Tool

You can use the Snipping Tool to capture part of the screen with your digital pen or your finger on a touch display and save the result to an image file or Web page.

You can capture the current screen image by pressing the Print Screen key, opening Paint (or some other graphics program), and then running the Paste command to copy the screen image. An alternative is to press Alt+Print Screen to capture just the currently active window.

What if you want to capture just part of the screen? For example, you may want to show someone part of a Web site or a dialog box.

One solution would be use Print Screen to capture and paste the screen and then use your graphics program to crop the image ...
