It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
8.8. Change How Often You Check for Messages
After you start Windows Live Mail, the program contacts your mail server every 30 minutes to see if any new messages have arrived. You can change the frequency with which Windows Live Mail checks for new messages to any time between 1 minute and 480 minutes. For example, you may prefer a shorter time if you are expecting an important message. Alternatively, if you want to minimize your connection time, you may prefer a much longer frequency.
If you set your e-mail frequency to a value higher than the connection idle time setting, your Internet connection may be disconnected when Windows Live Mail tries to check for new messages. To work around this problem, follow steps 1 to 3 and then use the If ...
