It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
9.4. Play Web Page Media. Safely and Privately
You can set options in Windows Media Player that ensure media downloaded from or played on an Internet site is safe and that enhance the privacy of the Internet media you play.
You can play Internet media either by downloading the music or video to your computer and playing it in Windows Media Player or by using a version of Windows Media Player that resides inside a Web page. Either way, the person who created the media may have included extra commands in a script designed to control the playback.
Unfortunately, scripts can also contain commands that can harm your computer, so preventing these scripts from running is the best option.
