3.8. Configure User Account Control Settings

You can configure Windows 7's user account control (UAC) to suit the way you work. The basic idea behind the UAC security model is to prevent harmful programs such as viruses and Trojan horses from installing themselves on your PC and changing your system settings It does this by monitoring your system for fou types of events: a program initiating a software install; a program changing system settings; a user changing system settings; and a user running high-level Windows 7 tools such as the Registry Editor.
