2.3. Change Your Screen Orientation

If you have a monitor that can be swiveled to a different orientation, you can configure Windows 7 to match that orientation.

A standard computer monitor comes with an orientation where the screen width is greater than the screen height. For example, on a typical 22-inch LCD monitor, the screen might be 19 inches wide and 12 inches high. (It is called a 22-inch monitor because it is approximately 22 inches on the diagonal.) This is called landscape orientation, which is a useful default configuration because you most often require extra width in applications such as spreadsheets and databases, or you may want to run two programs side by side.
