You can customize the Start menu's power button to run a different command, such as Restart or Sleep.
The Windows 7 Start menu comes with a power button labeled Shut Down by default. This means that you can shut down your PC by clicking Start and then clicking the power button. However, you may find that you rarely shut down your PC. For example, you might prefer to put your computer into sleep mode instead of shutting it down altogether. Similarly, you may find that you lock your computer or switch users far more often than you shut down.
