You can make the Network and Sharing Center easier to navigate and you can help to differentiate between multiple networks by personalizing the network names and icons. When you set up a network, Windows 7 gives the network a default name and icon that appear in the Network and Sharing Center. The name is either a generic name such as Network or the default name that the network administrator has set up in a router or gateway device.
If you find yourself working in the Network and Sharing Center window frequently, you may find the window easier to navigate if you assign more meaningful names to each network. This can also help you differentiate between networks.
