10.8. Protect Your Shared Files with Advanced File Permissions
You can use file permissions to specify which network users can access which folders, and what exactly those users can do with the files in those folders.
Chapter 3 discussed using file permissions to control what other users on your computer can do with your files. Windows 7 offers a similar set of permissions for folders that you have shared with the network. Permissions designate exactly what specified users can do with the contents of the protected network folder. In this case, there are three types of permissions.
