システムの直交性
システムの直交性とは、書籍『新装版 達人プログラマー 職人から名匠へ
の道』（アンドリュー・ハント、デビッド・トーマス著、ISBN：97842742
19337）の中で述べられている考え方で、簡単に設計・製造・テスト・拡
張できるシステムを構築するための概念です。
直交性という言葉は幾何学の分野のものですが、2つのベクトルが直交
（つまり、直角に交わる）している場合は、片方のベクトルを変更（足し算
とか）しても、もう一方のベクトルには影響を与えません。
同じように、システムのある機能においても、データベースの変更がネッ
トワーク用のユーティリティに影響を与えないように「直交」した設計にす
べきです。直交性はシステムの独立性や分離性を保つための方法です。
レイヤーは、直交性のあるシステムを構築するために非常に有効な手法で
す。
