最後に、本書の締めくくりとして設計のこれからについて考えてみたいと
思います。
もっと議論と実践を！
これからのシステム開発や設計はどうなるのでしょうか。アジャイル開発
方法論が主流となり、設計という行為は不要になるのでしょうか。それと
も、まだまだ設計が必要な領域は残っていくのでしょうか。
また、これから育っていく若いエンジニアに、設計をどのように伝えれば
よいのでしょうか。もちろん、その会社や部署の事情にあわせたシステム開
発や設計というものを教えることが先決でしょう。ウォーターフォールで開
発している会社で、「実はアジャイルというものがあってね。設計はいらな
いんだよ」と先輩に言われたら、若いエンジニアは面食らうことでしょう。
そのような会社では、まずはウォーターフォール開発を教えて、知見を広げ
るためにアジャイル開発方法論について補足すべきです。
重要なのは、もっと議論をすることと、実際に試すことです。アジャイル
開発方法論にとって最も重要な課題は、ユーザーに理解してもらうことで
す。ユーザーとの契約形態を請負契約から成果物責任のない委任契約に変え
る必要があるかもしれません。そのためには、もっと議論をすることで言葉
に説得力を付けなければなりません。もっと実績を作り、ユーザーにとって
もメリットがあることを伝えなければなりません。開発方法の違いによって
ユーザーにメリットがあることは、簡単には理解してもらえません。その意
