DSS Example Two
This same Silicon Valley computer company has also implemented some of this same data in a more complex Analysis Services OLAP cube for data-mining purposes. They have many things that they do not know about their sales data and want to do complex trending and forecasting to better understand the demand for products worldwide. Figure 3.5 shows the OLAP cube that is built into Analysis Services for this complex BI purpose. Several demand forecasting and product sales trending models have been developed that allow this company to predict sales by each of their products within each geography.
