Adding PowerShell Support

This discussion is based on SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition. SQL Server 2012 Express doesn’t provide all the same features. For example, the Express version doesn’t provide the SQL Server Agent functionality briefly discussed later.
The addition of Windows PowerShell 2.0 support has changed in SQL Server 2012. Prior to SQL Server 2012, PowerShell could be installed as part of the SQL Server install or installed after the SQL Server install was complete. With SQL Server 2012, Windows PowerShell 2.0 is a prerequisite for installing the SQL Server 2012 Database Engine components and SQL Server Management Studio.
