I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Backing Up Databases
Backing up databases is the most basic element of a maintenance plan—and probably the most important part. The importance of backups and the role they play are discussed in detail in Chapter 11, “Database Backup and Restore,” but basically, backups are needed to help limit the amount of data loss. For example, in the event of a disk drive failure, database backups can be used to restore the database data that was located on that drive.
