What’s New in Creating and Managing Triggers

The features and methods available for creating and managing triggers are essentially the same in SQL Server 2012 as they were in SQL Server 2005. The upside to this is that you can take the knowledge and skills that you have with SQL Server 2005 and apply them directly to SQL Server 2012.

One area that has had some minor changes in SQL Server 2012 relates to events captured by DDL triggers. In SQL Server 2012, several new events fire DDL triggers and event notification. These new events are centered on new features that were added to SQL Server 2012, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
