Implementing Change Tracking

To use Change Tracking, you must first enable it for the database and then enable it at the table level for any tables for which you want to track changes. Change Tracking can be enabled via T-SQL statements or through SQL Server Management Studio.

To enable Change Tracking for a database in SSMS, right-click on the database in Object Explorer to bring up the Properties dialog and select the Change Tracking page. To enable Change Tracking, set the Change Tracking option to True (see Figure 40.73).
