Using SSMS to Manage Server Roles

You can find server roles in the Object Explorer under the Security node, which contains a Server Roles node. The Server Roles node lists both fixed and nonfixed server roles. To add a new custom server role (nonfixed), you right-click the Server Roles node and select New Server Role. A new Server Role dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 17.10.
