If an employee gets behind (say more than 1 pitch increment) of what is

required, there should be a standard procedure to follow (i.e., notify supervi-

sor, request assistance from another staff member, etc.). The important point

regarding pitch is to group work that can be aligned around a specied value

stream, thereby reducing the queue time and other wastes that exist between
