So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In Chapter 13, we discussed the issue of problem solving, and 8D was
mentioned as one of the approaches to problem solving. In this chapter, we
are going to discuss this particular methodology in more detail, because
it is used very frequently and by many suppliers in many different indus-
tries. Fundamentally, the methodology actually is a nine-step process even
though it is identied as an eight-step approach. It was developed by Ford
Motor Company in the mid-1980s and has been revised several times since
