can get crystal-clear visibility into their processes. Picture yourself in the typical
BPM project where it takes about 90 days to go into production. Generally, if you
have taken the approach described in 6.1.2, “Metrics” on page 136, you will have
really excited stakeholders thinking of all kinds of possibilities for metrics and
reports. Make sure that you keep the reins tight at this point. Aim to keep the
scope limited to only those metrics and reports that indicate to the process owner
whether their process is succeeding or failing.
Why? The fact is, at this point, your view is limited as to how the process will
