Permissions

Permissions are determined by one of three access levels: Public, Registered, and Special. These three access levels correspond to the following user groups and determine their access:

Public

This level applies to general users and site visitors who don’t have an account. It could also be defined as guest users.

Registered

This level applies to all user groups that are Registered or higher, including Authors, Editors, Publishers, Managers, Administrators, and Super Administrators.

Special

This level applies to users that are either Administrators or Super Administrators.

If you need to find out more about what these user groups are able to do in Joomla, see Chapter 12 for an in-depth look at user permissions.
