Menu Modules: Parameters

As you’ve seen in our previous examples, menus and menu items are created and edited using both the Menu Manger and Menu Item Manager. The actual display and format of those menus is controlled by a module called mod_mainmenu. In fact, all menus use the mod_mainmenu module and not just the menu called Main Menu.

Modules are discussed in much more detail in Chapter 9, so don’t feel overwhelmed if you don’t understand everything you see in the Module Manager.

From the backend, go to ExtensionsModule Manager. Click the Select Type drop-down and select mod_mainmenu to filter the list by menu modules. Your screen should look similar to Figure 7-16. Click the module titled Main Menu to edit the module.

Take a look around and find the Module Parameters on the right side of your screen (Figures 7-17, 7-18, and 7-19). The items on the left are generic and apply to all modules (see Chapter 9 for in-depth details on module settings).
