19.7 Time studies and human factors
One of the goals of time and motion studies is to make the work as easy and satisfying for
the operator as possible. Human factors is the eld of industrial engineering that focuses
on people to enhance functional effectiveness and maintain or enhance human health,
safety, and satisfaction. In order to enhance human welfare, it is necessary to evaluate the
human–machine system from a physiological perspective and the environment in which
